Why: When Owen refers to Beru as his “girlfriend,” it just sounds too much like Earth culture. It really makes you lose the feel of Star Wars. It should be changed into a less of an everyday word.
How: Make Owen say something like, “I’m Owen and this is Beru; she’s a friend of (your mother’s/the family)…and I guess I’m your stepbrother.”
