Electro-binoculars

Why: The electro-binoculars that Luke uses in ANH have two problems. The first one is the quality of the picture. In TPM, Darth Maul uses a pair of electro-binoculars to scope out Mos Espa and the image was crystal clear. In ANH, some 32 years later, you can barely see an image because of all the static, etc. This doesn’t really make sense.

Secondly, the numbers that are displayed with the image when looking through the binoculars are regular Arabic numbers instead of Aurebesh numbers like Maul’s are in TPM. This, and the Death Star timer are the only two places where we see regular numbers, and they should be changed in both instances.

How: Re-film a new view through the binoculars for the two scenes in which they are used, them being when Luke is searching for Artoo, and when Luke is looking at the banthas. The picture should be clearer and the numbers should be Aurebesh.

  1. The tattoine view is easy to do. Im curious where to find moving animals(elephants) or even realistic props to recreate the full of life banthas.

  2. Adywan already did it quite nicely in Star Wars: Revisited, did you get a chance to look at his work?

  5. Darth Maul has a brand new, super-fancy, top of the line model. Luke is a poor farm boy, who probably has a cheap, second hand model. Like a 2005 camcorder vs. a RED HD camera.
